Game of Thrones foi a série mais nomeada estando a concorrer a 19 prémios. Só Fargo conseguiu semelhante proeza, estando em competição em 18 categorias. American Horror Story: Coven vem logo a seguir com 17, sendo que Breaking Bad e Normal Heart estão empatadas com 16 nomeações cada.
A cerimónia de entrega dos Emmys será no dia 25 de agosto e será apresentada por Seth Meyers.
